These kits will be given at free of cost to the students of Class 1 to Class 10 in government and government-aided schools. They want to ensure that every student receives equal opportunities right from the start by giving them all the necessary school items like uniforms, bags, books, etc.

About Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan Vidyarthi Mitra Scheme
The scheme is named after Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, one of the greatest teachers, philosophers, and the former President of India. Teacher’s Day is celebrated every year on September 5 in order to celebrate his birth day. The government made an effort to name the scheme after him because of his contribution to education and to keep the scheme away from political names or symbols.
The government is distributing school kits free to over 35 lakh students of Andhra Pradesh under this scheme. Each kit costs Rs 2,279 approximately, with the sAlcheme’s total budget being around Rs 953.71 crore. This budget includes Rs 778.68 crore from the state government and Rs 175.03 crore from the central government.
